Senior Back-End Engineer

We are a well-capitalized startup seeking an extremely talented Back End Engineer to help make every human a home owner. You must have experience building and designing large and complex, yet maintainable SaaS. We are a SaaS-enabled marketplace that engages every human through compelling and thoughtful design. You must be able to work closely with your team to complete sprints and maintain a velocity most competent people think not possible.

We expect intense, talented and interesting teammates who care about achieving a triple bottom line of societal, environmental and economic return.

Exceptional communication and comfort with debate are essential.

We have no sacred cows in our tech stack and are instead driven toward being curious about how we can always learn and improve. Our current backend is Ruby on Rails and frontend is Vue.js – we are open to consideration of other technologies and the right candidate will help us form that technology hypothesis for validation.

What You Must Have

  • Bachelor degree in computer science, information technology, software engineering or equivalent experience
  • An understanding of SaaS software development practice; ideally, you have experience working on a SaaS product
  • Led large tasks requiring Architecture and Design skills both within and across team and technology area boundaries.
  • Participated in the full development lifecycle of applications, and seek to improve how we work, not just the code we write
  • Experience with great agile cultures and is willing to drive change in process to improve performance
  • Good knowledge of computer science terminology and concepts
  • Build and maintain backend services written primarily in Ruby on Rails
  • Help us occasionally maintain systems written in other languages, including Vue.js
  • Expertise with testing frameworks
  • Very good debugging skills
  • Good working knowledge of git
  • Understanding of design principles (S.O.L.I.D.).

We are a mission-driven startup seeking an extremely talented Technical Empathetic Product Manager to help enable every human to be a home owner.

After reflection we striked out “Talented Technical” as we consider that as table stakes. Our hypothesis is that a product manager who is driven by empathy for our members will form the best hypothesis alongside with the three internal stakeholders (a person each representing one of; addy members, software team and the business).

Lean Startup Methodology. You should be steeped in lean startup experience and get that ? less is more ?. Through LeanUX ideations we hypothesize what MVP’s are built to validate or not – our hypothesis. Validated learning is our goal and we celebrate failure equally to success.

We use technology as a catalyst and start with pen and paper. We are creating engaging mobile first experiences for the FI savvy Gen Z and Millennial demographics. ✖️ and ?’ers are secondary and we feel we get them for free.

Walk it like you talk it. You should be able to go deep and drip passion ? for your craft and are looking for ??‍♀️ ?? ??‍♀️ ? ?‍? who are able to share extraordinary examples of their experience of failure and success.

About the Team

As a fast growing startup; we have come to understand for us – it is best to be in person as this allows us to collaborate, collide and innovate most quickly as a team. An example of this, is that most of the team was together into Christmas evening, working on the last minute securities details of our Calgary issuance. We observed that beyond the ability to swarm better on an issue in person as a team; everyone was able to see, hear and feel the need to be supportive to each other; if even that was just a donut run next door to keep a teammate calorie’d up ?.

As a company we take health of body and mind very seriously and to that end are following all health protocols at our office and as a startup. Everyone is supplied with masks and it is mandatory to wear them in the office. We have installed the best HEPA air purification units available (Blue Air) and have 3x the standard installation of them and of course there is more hand sanitizer than one knows what to do with; as there are stations on each desk, meeting room and entry point.

What You’ll Do

  • Understand the needs of members and how their goals can be solved using the addy applications
  • Develop a roadmap and work with stakeholders to ensure alignment on priorities, including other product managers who will have requirements for the apps to support their member journeys
  • Translate high-level product features into detailed product requirements including acceptance test criteria
    • Work closely with our Vancouver based SET (Software Engineer in Test) to ensure the requirements are communicated for success
  • Prioritize the sprint backlog of detailed requirements to ensure delivery of key product milestones.
    • Manage the scrum team ? velocity to meet campaign launches
  • Partner with user experience and design teams to refine user facing product solutions
  • Work with engineers in an Agile environment to continuously launch features in our apps; responsive web, native iOS and Android operating systems.
  • Identify risks and work across stakeholders to align on resolution plans in order to execute on the product roadmap

What You Must Have

To be a good fit for this opportunity you will have:

  • 5+ years of strong product management experience, ideally with mobile app ? development experience
  • Communication skills within Slack, Notion and ?
  • Bachelor degree in computer science, information technology, software engineering or equivalent experience ?
  • High-level understanding of product ownership practices and techniques

The Content Marketing Manager will help build, design and implement content strategies. They will create consumable media that will drive conversation curiosity and fuel addy’s future growth.

  • Developing and managing our editorial calendar to ensure timely publication across all channels
  • Developing the strategy and content for our Blog, and channels like reddit, youtube etc.. by leveraging your writing skills or outsource to external writers as needed
  • Performing regular content audits to identify gaps in our content and recommend new asset types, channels, strategies, and topics
  • Creating new content that is optimized for SEO and backlinks
  • Ensuring we are developing high converting copy by conducting keyword and SEO research to enhance content development and increase organic traffic
  • Writing, proofreading, and editting all written pieces before publication
  • Establishing integrated promotional campaigns that drive traffic to content assets by leveraging search, social media, landing pages, advertising and more
  • Following industry-related news and generating ideas around trending topics
  • Reviewing and updating published content as needed
  • Keeping up with the latest in conventional and new media to ensure we harness the latest techniques, tactics, and technologies

We are a well-capitalized startup seeking a Growth Marketing Analyst who is motivated by the big challenge of disrupting the real estate industry. You will work closely with our growth team to build out a growth framework for addy that will drive meaningful business decisions. With a lotfy goal of reaching 1 million members, the ideal candidate for this role is an ambitious strategic thinker who loves to test and thinks about the bigger picture.

What You’ll Do

  • Run digital marketing campaigns and other growth initiatives end-to-end: you will design experiments, develop campaign strategy, and drive execution of the campaign through to completion
  • Own addy’s data infrastructure including tracking, attribution, and experimentation frameworks
  • Dive into member behaviour, including funnel analysis, member segmentation, member profitability, retention by cohort, and more; develop ways to scale and uncover areas for improvement
  • Be where our potential investors are; reddit, redflagdeals, etc. 
  • Lead overall site conversion rate optimization and monitor, analyze, and inform testing agenda for Mixpanel’s conversion rate optimization program
  • Work cross-functionally with product, engineering, member services, and sales to meet ambitious growth targets
  • Prepare and present recommendations, reports, and findings from experimental data to the team

What You’ll Achieve

What You Need to Know

  • Be able to run digital marketing campaigns on Facebook, Instagram, Google etc.

IMPACT OF A MEMBER EXPERIENCE SPECIALIST AT ADDY:

You will interact with addy members across all channels to ensure a positive experience and member delight. You will constantly review data and analytics from the communication channels we use to ensure that we continue iterating to evolve our member experience at every touchpoint.

As part of this role you will participate in product development and ideations to ensure that the addy platform continues to improve with the members’ best interest in mind.

YOUR WORK DAY MIGHT LOOK LIKE:

  • Gathering information and insights from our members and exploring new win/win solutions that maintain a 5/5 rating with our customers
  • Acting as a conduit for meaningful feedback from our member communities and sharing these insights with our teams
  • Spending 30% of the week interacting with our members on Intercom (our customer messaging software)
  • Spending 10% of the week engaging with our members through our social platforms
  • Updating communication channels and escalating issues to addy teams to ensure timely resolution
  • Tracking KPIs across our social platforms, communicating member data and NPS insights to our team on a regular cadence
  • Identifying members that would be good candidates to test our Minimum Viable Products (MVP) and help gather feedback and suggestions.
  • Supporting the addy squad with general office administrative tasks
  • Following up with members stuck in pending sales (started purchases but did not sign)
  • Understanding why revenue was lost

ABILITIES YOU BRING TO ADDY:

  • 3-5 years of experience
  • Intuition to acknowledge the need for team growth and initiative to communicate needs to hire before challenges arise
  • Technology savvy – can navigate Office Administrative software, social media, and ticketing /Customer software (e.g. Jira, Intercom, etc.)
  • Curiosity to learn more about Investment and Real Estate terms
  • Meticulous attention to detail
  • Values-aligned to support others and bring win/win solutions to challenges
  • Comfortable with face-to-face live chats

In addition, this will allow us to improve our platform and operations, and make informed decisions that align with addy member’s goals. 

We are a SaaS-enabled marketplace that engages every human through compelling and thoughtful design. You must be able to work closely with your team to complete sprints and maintain a velocity most competent people think not possible.

What You Must Have

  • Knowledge or interests in Proptech.
  • Knowledge or interest in current investment trends and how it is done.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Real Estate, Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration Or equivalent experience. Master’s degree is a plus.
  • 3-5 years of experience of real estate experience in commercial and residential acquisitions.
  • Familiar with Limited Partnership investment structures on the LP and/or the GP side.
  • Possess strong financial acumen with experience in creating and working with financial models.
  • Experience in analyzing data and performing due diligence to draw business-relevant conclusions.
  • Have experience in creating and managing processes for real estate portfolio’s statistics/data, forecasting, budgeting and reporting with the executive team. 
  • Bonus: Familiarity with different property asset types (multifamily, office, retail, industrial, etc.)

  • Assist with creation of Offering Memorandums and documents required for an issuance.
  • Create and implement procedures to streamline real estate processes.

  • Achievements in 12 months will include analysis of over 150 properties and conclusions for each.
